Manage the Entire Lifecycle of a Document
 
Documents often have a lifecycle associated with them
For some business documents their lifecycle is short. Once they are captured and classified, they are archived for retrieval only
Some documents may require more steps, such as review and approval, or a business process to gather additional information. DocuNECT can automate the different stages in the lifecycle allowing users to perform the document related tasks they need inside the system
Examples of a document related process are: Contract Review and Approval, Human Resource Document Review and Approval, and Invoice Approval
 

Assign Records Retention To Your Documents
 
External compliance or corporate policy may dictate how long different types of business documents can be kept
You can define document retention rules to different types of business documents as part of the lifecycle
  The retention rule has a Trigger on the business data such as Document Date + 5 Years or Invoice Received Date + 7 Years
The Disposition Process then defines what happens when the trigger is met. You can delete documents, take them off line to make them in accessible to users, or move them to a different type of storage. You can also defines a business process to gather approval for the document disposition
There may be some instances where you want to "hold" the document rather than continuing with the disposition as the document is still involved in a business process
